Renewable energy sources are increasingly emerging as the driving force of future energy supply. They already cover a large part of the current energy demand. One of the largest producers – along with hydropower and wind power – is photovoltaics, which has now arrived in the middle of our society and on many roofs. The most common mounting locations for photovoltaic modules are roofs or open spaces.

Other mounting possibilities are facades, terraces, balcony balustrades and – as sun protection – on carports or pergolas. Mostly, the modules are available on the market as ready-made panels; however, semi-transparent laminated glass elements are also used. In addition, it is possible to install roof shingles which already have integrated PV cells. Different cell types allow for an optimized use – depending on the application. Single-Junction Cells, Multi Junction Cells, Crystalline Silicon Cells, Thin-Film Cells

Planning of PV systems

To evaluate alternative energy sources and especially photovoltaic systems economically and to compare them with other energy systems, we developed R.O.S.E.®. By using this programme, many individual adjustments of parameters can be made, such as a solar thermal system and PV system, with or without battery storage. R.O.S.E.® can thus determine the exact payback periods already at the beginning of a project based on the net present value method. An important aspect is the coordination of the possible orientations in relation to the use of the building and, if necessary, the integration of a battery storage in order to optimize self-sufficiency.

R.O.S.E.® makes the calculation of several PV systems with different orientations and performances possible. In addition, all energy and manufacturer prices are continuously updated, which enables us to plan even more comprehensively.  In a further step, inverters, battery storage and additional requirements can be worked out in an overall energy concept. We are looking forward to supporting you and your project!
