The influence of earthquakes on structural design has become an important and central part of our planning and design of structures. Under the influence of the seismic stress, the horizontal forces, which arise from the inertia of the masses in the respective floors, are carried away through the floor slabs over the stiffening wall slabs to the foundations.

Here it is important to ensure that there is a sufficient number of wall panels on all floors, which are evenly divided in the floor plan. The design is generally carried out on the 3D model using the multimodal response spectrum method. The results of all relevant natural oscillation shapes are superimposed in order to obtain the internal forces for further design of the components.
