On May 28, 2026, the Austrian State Prize for Timber Construction was awarded for the first time.We were all the more delighted to receive this groundbreaking award for the expansion of the Windkraft Simonsfeld AG headquarters together with Juri Troy ZT GmbH and Srobl Bau-Holzbau GmbH. 🙌
The award recognized buildings that exemplarily combine architectural quality, sustainable spatial planning, and the innovative use of wood. This very aspiration guided the project from the very beginning: to view wood not merely as a structural building material, but as a central pillar of a sustainable, climate-positive building culture. 🌱
🏅Being selected from among 41 nominated projects from all federal states was a special honor for us. The decision by the international jury of experts confirms that responsible planning, structural clarity, and sustainability are inseparable in timber construction.
The Sofiensäle in Vienna provided the perfect setting for a premiere: With the State Prize, awarded for the first time by BMLUK and proHolz Austria, timber construction in Austria is coming increasingly into focus.
We warmly congratulate all the award winners and participants—as well as the organizers for the successful execution of the award ceremony. 🤝
We are proud of this project, grateful for the dedicated collaboration of everyone involved—and convinced that timber construction is not a trend, but a philosophy. 💚
