Together with Praschl-Goodarzi Architekten ZT-GmbH, we are delighted to have been recognised in the EU-wide, open, single-stage realisation competition for the extension and renovation of the Neunkirchen school site.

The project includes the expansion and refurbishment of the BG/BRG, the renovation of the HAK/HAS, and the construction of a shared-use pavilion.

The design concept aims to create a harmonious synthesis between new buildings in modern timber construction and the existing reinforced concrete structures. Special attention is given to the careful treatment of the existing building fabric, which is largely preserved, revitalised, and thermally upgraded using prefabricated timber curtain façades.

The existing HAK sports hall will be repurposed into a new canteen and entrance foyer, providing a direct link to the central Otto-Glöckel-Platz and the BRG.

A cohesive façade design featuring ecologically sustainable timber surfaces gives architectural expression to the campus concept. Both schools are designed as modern cluster schools, featuring open marketplace areas, generous circulation spaces, balcony extensions, and newly designed central main staircases.
