Unterolberndorf Kindergarten

Modern kindergarten in Unterolberndorf with striking timber roof construction and sheltered entrance area.

The new state kindergarten in 2123 Unterolberndorf – designed by Arch. DI (FH) Thomas Abendroth – is an architectural highlight for the youngest members of the community. The single-story building, which opened in November 2020, impresses with its modern architecture that combines functionality and aesthetics. Particularly striking is the complex roof construction, which is complemented by a spacious and elegant canopy supported by filigree wooden beams that reach an impressive span of almost 9 meters.

The canopy is not only an architectural eye-catcher, but also fulfills several functions: it protects children and parents from wind and weather while providing the community with a covered area for events. Several skylights flood the interior with daylight and create a pleasant, friendly atmosphere for the children.

The kindergarten was built using modern timber frame construction by Ludwig Pöll Gesellschaft m.b.H. and digitally documented to make the precise implementation visible.

Our team supported the project with structural engineering and detailed building physics services. This collaboration enabled the high technical requirements of the building to be optimally implemented.

The Unterolberndorf kindergarten is thus a prime example of contemporary architecture that harmoniously combines functionality, sustainability, and design—a place where children, parents, and the entire community can feel equally at home.
