Kindergarten Ferdinand-Freiligrath-Gasse 29

Daycare building rendering with wooden facade, bike racks and people at entrance

The new kindergarten at Ferdinand-Freiligrath-Gasse 29 in 2232 Deutsch-Wagram was officially opened on October 7, 2024. In his winning competition design, Arch. DI Christian Farcher placed particular emphasis on ecological sustainability and energy efficiency throughout the planning process of the new kindergarten.

“This building was planned in accordance with the criteria of the klimaaktiv building standard. With 905 out of 1,000 possible points, it meets the Austrian quality mark for sustainable residential and service buildings.”

The 4-group kindergarten was built in timber construction and equipped with a brine-water heat pump with deep probes; in addition, a PV system provides the daily power supply. Heat is emitted via underfloor and wall heating, which is also used for cooling in summer. The group rooms and the exercise room were equipped with a separate compact ventilation unit with humidity and heat recovery.

We wish all children and teachers a great start to their educational life and would like to thank the municipality of Deutsch-Wagram, Ludwig Pöll Gesellschaft m.b.H. (solid wood construction), Mr. Arch. DI Christian Farcher and everyone involved for the excellent cooperation.
