The International Christian School of Vienna in Vienna’s 22nd district is based on a US school system and thus represents a counterpoint to the currently “modern” school class systems in Austria.

Our long-term client, the architectural office Franz & Sue, has won the competition for the construction of this school. As part of our expertise in structural engineering, building physics and with our now proven tool R.O.S.E.® we can do our part to realize this extraordinary project.

The basis is a square, monolithic, three-storey building with an adjacent triple gym, which is also intended to serve as a large event hall for the school and the surrounding area.

The choice of materials fell on a solid construction of mighty brick walls and reinforced concrete flat ceilings. Based on a thermodynamic simulation, the heating and cooling load is simulated in order to create a continuous comfort in every room. Due to the brick walls, the construction gets a very high thermal mass as well as a very high heat and sound insulation value.

Together with the entire planning team and the client, we are looking forward to this challenging task
