MeidLine – New construction of a pedestrian bridge Participation in the competition

Together with Proksa Architects – Jan Proksa, Bridge Structures s.r.o. – Petr Tej, Jan Mourek and outside landschaftsarchitektur GmbH, we took part in the EU-wide open single-stage realization competition for the award of general planning services for the NEW CONSTRUCTION OF A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE FROM SCHEDIFKAPLATZ TO HOHENBERGSTRASSE in 1120 Vienna.

The bridge design creates a dynamic connection between the new security center and the surrounding areas, integrates harmoniously into the environment and expands existing spaces. The curved lines and meandering pathways create a variety of visual connections. Greened edge areas with trees and shrubs increase the quality of stay, while the light-colored natural stone paving offers a high-quality appearance with a Viennese cityscape reference. Flowing transitions to green areas and a well thought-out lighting concept with slender light columns enhance the design quality. The bridge thus becomes not only a functional crossing, but also a striking urban space for all users.

We would like to congratulate the winners and runners-up and thank everyone involved for their cooperation and the valuable exchange during the competition.
