In May 2022, the Lower Austrian state kindergarten in Münichsthal was officially inaugurated in the center of the town, with numerous distinguished guests in attendance – a project that impresses not only through its architectural quality but also through its commitment to sustainability standards.
The architecture firm Treberspurg & Partner Architekten won the design competition for this project in 2019 with the concept “The Three Town Musicians.” Commissioned by the municipality of Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel region, the kindergarten was built with the clear objective of achieving klimaaktiv Gold certification.
The interdisciplinary collaboration between structural engineering, building physics, and building services played a decisive role in meeting the demanding requirements of this standard. The klimaaktiv building standard assesses not only energy efficiency but also factors such as comfort, indoor air quality, and material and construction quality.
This forward-thinking building has created a sustainable space that provides ideal conditions for the development of future generations.
