Comprehensive design of structural engineering

Building services, and fire protection

The new construction of the RAIBA Lilienfeld Competence Center creates a contemporary bank branch that combines functional requirements, sustainable construction, and high technical quality. Our contribution encompassed structural engineering, building services, and fire protection planning—from conceptual development through to detailed technical design.

Structural Concept and Construction Method

The basement was designed using reinforced concrete for the garage, storage, and mechanical rooms. The site conditions required early consideration of the requirements for the construction phase—particularly regarding dewatering and structural stability during construction.
The above-ground floors were designed as timber structures. A clearly structured framework formed the basis for flexible floor plans and open-plan spaces. Special structural challenges arose from a cantilevered upper floor and a column-free event hall, which enables a high-quality spatial experience.

Fire Safety

The fire safety concept is based on the applicable building code requirements and equally prioritizes the safety of occupants, emergency responders, and the surrounding area.

Energy and Building Services

In terms of building services, the project relies on renewable energy, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and thermally efficient building component activation. An integrated photovoltaic solution complements the overall energy concept.
This new building exemplifies an integrated planning approach in which the structural system, building services, and building use were developed together at an early stage—serving as a solid foundation for a durable, functional, and sustainable building solution.
