Catamaran Vienna – Landmark on the banks of the Danube ⛵
Completed in 2009, the Catamaran Vienna office complex at Handelskai 348 sets a striking urban accent in the east of Vienna. With its characteristic architecture, which is reminiscent of the shape of a sailing catamaran, and its orientation towards the Danube, the building combines functionality with aesthetic quality.
Two parallel building wings, connected by two transverse wings, create a spacious inner courtyard and two inviting forecourts. The load-bearing structure made of reinforced concrete with four core segments, slender columns and thin ceilings allows for flexible use. Particularly noteworthy are the cantilevered building sections at the four ends, which are supported by mighty, truss-like horizontal beams and large-scale reinforced concrete composite trusses and offer an impressive view of the Danube.
An architectural highlight are the two “SkyOffices” on the 10th floor, which offer a unique panoramic view of Vienna’s city center. With over 40,000 m² of usable space, a meeting room for 300 people, a canteen with 150 seats and two underground levels with 323 parking spaces, the Catamaran offers space for a wide range of uses.
