“Börseplatz 1 Vienna – Imperial Splendor Meets Engineering Excellence”
Behind the elegant façade at Börseplatz 1 in Vienna lies a masterpiece of structural engineering – with challenges that are only invisible at first glance.

The former imperial post and telegraph office (built in 1873) was converted into an exclusive residential and office building. Our task: to preserve the structural safety and functionality of this magnificent, listed building for future generations.

Technical milestones of our contribution:

Earthquake analysis: 3D push-over calculation for the condition before and after the conversion – including targeted reinforcement measures.
Parking garage: Complete conversion of the 2nd and 3rd basement levels with reinforced concrete ceilings and underpinning beams under solid brick walls.
Technical collector: Planning and implementation of an underground pipe route below the third basement level – invisible, but essential.
Ceiling extension: New reinforced concrete ribbed ceiling on the fourth floor with complete gutting – including precise vibration and deformation tests.

The result: 36 exclusive apartments with historical charm and modern office space on the ground floor – based on a structural design that perfectly combines history and the future.
